Nesbit, nr. Hartlepool, Durham

Known as Nesbit (in at least 20 spellings) since 1160. One farmhouse and a few cottages on the outskirts of Hartlepool. Nesbitt Dene, a former quarry, leads down from Nesbitt Hall to Castle Eden Dene. Photo courtesy of Jo Bradley - follow link for her Nesbit walk.

St. Mary the Virgin, Easington, Durham

The Rev. Philip Nisbet, forebear of the current Clan Chief, was rector here 1645-54 and is buried in the churchyard. He would have lived at the Rectory, the medieval manor house of Seaton Holme on the other side of the road.

Nesbit Hall, Bankhouse, Pudsey, Yorkshire​

Built in 1761 for Claud Nisbet, London merchant and member of the nearby Moravian community. Architect possibly Edward Graves, who built Fulneck School.

Nesbit, Doddington​
Northumberland

A small hamlet, formerly the site of a pele tower. The location of the Fenton Estate, and of the Battle of Nesbit Moor in 1492. The English defeated a Scots raiding party.

Well Hall, Eltham

The children's writer Edith Nesbit lived here, in southeast London. A visit here can be combined with the art deco house at Eltham Palace. Nesbit's grave is at ​St Mary the Virgin Church, St Mary in the Marsh, Kent.
