2007 GATHERING: 3-5 AUGUST LIVONIA, MICHIGAN
St. Andrew's Society (SAS) of Detroit's 158th Highland Games
The Nesbitt / Nisbet Clan were the featured clan at this year’s Highland Games, which formed a superb location for our 2007 clan gathering. Report & photos by Graham Nisbet.
Prior to midday Nesbitt / Nisbet clan members took up position at the front of the Clan procession. The Clan was led onto the field by the Nesbitt / Nisbet Society North American banner, carried by Nathan & Ross Hall. Behind them followed our flag bearers:- President David Nesbitt Harvey IV who carried the Nisbet (Modern) Tartan Flag; the Scottish flag was carried by Tommy Nisbet from Milngavie, Scotland; the American Flag was carried by young Taylor Nisbet of Charlotte NC; the Canadian flag was carried by Shaelyn Taylor from Pierson, Manitoba, Canada; John & Tom Nisbett carried their own family ceremonial poles and flags. The flag bearers were then followed by the remainder of the 80 plus Kin Folk all in Red N/N tee-shirts. The sea of red around the field was amazing to see and showed how well our Clan was represented at these games.
Following the parade of all the Clans, Steve Nesbitt presented a Cup donated by his family to the Best Clan tent at the Highland Games, which went to the Elliot Clan tent, this trophy will be presented at all future St Andrew’s Highland Games.
Jeff T. Nisbet, Dorothy Nesbitt, Taylor Nisbet, Graham G Nisbet & Steve Nesbitt at the N/N tent.
Congratulations to Steve Nesbitt, Irene Hall and Judi Nesbitt and the US Society for such a sucessful meeting.
